Before arriving at Chic Sugars, Samantha Flores-Swidrak aspired to become a doctor as she thought that a career in cake decorating wasn’t fruitful. Putting her passion to the side, she enrolled at Hohokus Eastwick College, but she quickly found out that creativity was a part of her DNA; she couldn’t deny her zeal any further. 

Samantha Flores-Swidrak was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey to parents of Puerto Rican and Guatemalan descent. She was raised in a wonderful community full of culture, heritage, and the love of family and friends. Both of her parents instilled the value of faith, strength, confidence, unconditional love and selfless generosity which was showered upon her. 

In the Fall of 2012, she had the opportunity to finally pursue her true goal her so she enrolled at Star Career Academy for baking and pastry arts. Samantha continuously sets her sights on lofty goals; whether it is graduating within the top of her class or being hired at a well-known bakery– her ambiton is limitless. After achieving a 4.0 GPA, she was hired as an assistant cake decorator at the famous Carlos Bakery in Hoboken, NJ in March 2013. To push herself even further, Samantha joined the decorating team at Swiss Chalet Bakery & Cafe in Morristown, NJ in 2014.  Although most would be reluctant to push out of their comfort zone, Samantha keeps an openness to learning new things, new environments and unexpected directions or paths, which led her to her ultimate dream. As the Cake Decorator at Chic Sugars, she cultivates a multitude of creativity and a keen eye for detail “I love what I do and how I am able to create and make art through cakes” Samantha states. 

As affectionately known to her friends and family, Sam loves watching horror movies, reading books, and cooking in her spare time.
